About converting DWF to DXF
DWF/DWFx is Autodesk's format for publishing and sharing drawings. Its free viewer, Autodesk Design Review, has been discontinued, so opening a DWF you received is getting harder every year. zumen-gate reads 2D DWF sheets in beta.
The converted DXF opens in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, LibreCAD, QCAD, and practically any other CAD application. You can choose between R2010 (AC1024) for modern software and R12 (AC1009) for older tools.
All conversions run through a single engine with a common intermediate representation. Every conversion produces a loss report tallying which entities were converted as-is and which were approximated or dropped — so you can trust the output, or know exactly why not.
FAQ
DWF → DXF conversion — frequently asked questions
Which DXF version should I choose?
Choose R2010 (AC1024) for AutoCAD and most modern CAD software. Choose R12 (AC1009) for older CAD applications or CNC/CAM tools. If unsure, try R2010 first and fall back to R12 if it won't open.
Will my drawing break when converting DWF to DXF?
The conversion is a deterministic, structural translation through a common intermediate representation. After every conversion you get a loss report listing exactly which entities were converted, approximated, or dropped — so you can verify the result on the spot.
Is there a limit on conversions or downloads?
No. Conversions and downloads are unlimited, and no account is required. The only limit is 10MB per file.
What happens to the files I upload?
Transfers and storage are encrypted, and your drawings are never sold or shared with third parties. On the free tier, uploads are used to improve the service and train our AI models, so please avoid uploading confidential drawings. A no-training Pro plan is available — see the data policy page for details.
